Editing video- feedback and learner response

  • It seems like two seperate videos (both good!)- creepy horror/thriller to start and then nice family drama the second half.
  • Excellent framing of shots- particularly the OTS shots for the conversation.
  • Pace for conversation generally very good but a couple of glitches on certain cuts.
  • Kitchen scene very nicely judged.

My Reflection


I successfully met the brief of the task- 180 degree, shot reverse shot and match on action done really well. However, there were minor error in my video which can be improved. One was the jump-cuts during dialogue, there was a point in the dialogue where the it was overlapped.Moreover, I could have used more realistic music rather than any piece to show it is playing in the headphones.

Learner Response

I found the match-on-action shot the hardest to film, because you have to make sure that the actor is in the same place as before. I will further develop my skill of editing by trying to video some small videos and try and edit them in my free time. This will allow me to get better not only at editing stuff, but on how to use Premier Pro. Additionally, next time I will look for a more effective piece of music. Next time I will re-shoot a shot is necessary.

1) Feedback: WWW: A very solid exam response with Q3 just superb. If you can reach that level of knowledge, insight and question focus across the exam you will be looking at A/A*. EBI: Revise myth and ideology. Q2 lacked focus...so crucial for top level answers. Print brief research and planning

1) Magazine cover key conventions I will be using for my print: Masthead At least 5 cover lines Slogan Powerful central image House-style/colour scheme Target audience 2)  I will be using this style of powerful central image and bold masthead.
