Cinematography video feedback and learner response

1) My video:

2) Mr Halsey's feedback-
  • Very effective response with a nice selection of shots and angles. The focus pull is excellent (and very difficult to do well- and yours is spot on!)
  • One shot incorrectly titled- the XCU was a CU.
  • They key EBI is framing- think about the composition of your shots for future porjects to aim for A/A*.
3) Class feedback-

WWW: Good range of camera shots used. Nice music
EBI: Extreme close up was a close up.

EBI: Nothing
WWW: Good camera angles and clear movement and shots.
EBI: Nothing.

EBI: Extreme close up was not done correctly.
WWW: Good variety of shots and framing of shots (especially the focus pull).

4) My Reflection:
  • WWW: Great focus pull.
  • WWW:I filmed a range of shots- correctly done.
  • WWW:Music went well with setting/camera angles.
  • EBI: The video could have been longer.
  • EBI: Tighter framing for A/A*
  • EBI: One shot labelled incorrectly
5) Learner Response:

There are many things that I will do differently next time, such as making sure that my framing is tighter and accurate in order to push myself to an A/A* grade,  I will keep taking the shots until they are perfect. I could maybe do a narrative video, this is because they are quite engaging and you can use a variety of shots and it will be entertaining. I really want to get a reaction from the audience. I will also include more shots. I will also keep working on my focus pull, even though it was perfect! Overall, I just need to make sure that the shots are in better framing so that the quality of my work is at a high standard.
