1) This is the opening sequence of the James Bond movie;Quantum Of Solace. The scene begins with an establishing shot and tracking inward shot. This can be seen because the camera is moving in towards where the action is going on, so we can see where this is taking place. After this, we are able to see how an action match is used to introduce the car chase. This highlights to the audience that the movie will be action-packed. Later on, we can see how the camera deliberately shows a close up of Bond's eye. The audience becomes aware that Bond is in a dangerous situation and is trying to escape, this is reinforced through the sweat we can see on his forehead during the close up. The tracking shot is used throughout the opening scene this is because its a car chase so the two cars need to be followed in order or theaudience to know what's going on. Additionally, when they get to the quarry an establishing/wide shot is used to show the setting to the audience. There are several of medium close ups of the car at various point, this may have been done to show the consistent damage done to Bonds car after each collision. A point of view shot is used to show the action from Bonds point of view. This makes it more dramatic. Also, a crane shot is used to show the movement of the tyres. ASteadicam may have been used because at some point the camera is shaky, this may have been done on deliberate. A low angle shot is used to show how steep it was for the car to go off the road. At the end of the scene a high angle shot is used to introduce the area they are in- "Sienna, Italy". This establishes the setting. There is a birds eye view shot of the car approaching the door. When Bond enters the door a long shot is used. Additionally, when Bond opens the car boot, there is a person tied up in there. A low angle shot is used by purpose to make that character seem inferior and weak in front of Bond.

2) This scene contained a lot of violence, the gunshots, car chase and the cars getting damaged. This illustrates to the audience that the genre of the movie is Action. Also, the fact that the camera showed a close up of Bond suggests that he is the one in trouble and is obviously the protagonist. Also, the fact that the villain wasn't shown makes the audience curios as to who it is and why they are acting in this way. We are only shown the gunman and the person in the boot.Furthermore, the fact that they started the scene of by showing a beautiful view of the scenery juxtaposes with the violence, this suggests that the situation is futile and dangerous. It also foreshadows the conflict later on in the movie. Additionally, we are introduced to the setting through the different types of shots. In particular a wide shot/tilt is used to establish the setting in Sienna, Italy.

3)

This image is from the 1996 film, Romeo and Juliet, by Baz Luhrmann. A wide shot/establishing shot has been used for this image to signify to the audience where Romeo is, so it establishes the setting. The audience are aware that Romeo is walking down the church isle and is making his way to Juliet, who is presumed dead. Additionally, the fact that they have used a full length shot suggests that they want the audience to notice what Romeo is dressed up like. If the camera was moving it would be a crane shot, this is because the image is taken from a significantly lower angle as there is dead space above Romeos head. This may have been done on deliberate.

This image is from The Tree Of Life, made in 2011. A long shot is used to show the background action, in this case there is no action, so the director wanted the audience to realise that this character may be isolated or may be dying. This is because of the de-saturated and monochrome colours used. This is also a crane shot, because we can see that the camera is just above ground level.

This image is from Star Wars: A New Hope. We can see that Luke is walking towards the sunset. A wide/establishing shotis used to show this. This indicates some sort of finality. Also, this is a long shot so we can see the background.

This image is from Rocky. We can see how a long shot is used to show his actions, this emphasises to the audience that he has succeeded. Additionally, awide/establishing shotis used to introduce the setting and show the background. We can see how the background in empty, so it suggests to the audience that it is early morning and the sun is rising. Also, this image is taken at a lower angle which may highlight that Rocky is the dominant and stronger one.
