1) This still image is of a man who is in his office, but he seems to be distracted because he isn't doing his work- he is leaning on his desk and looking down to the floor. The man is wearing a black suit and is dressed up in a smart way (glasses), this could suggest that he is a successful business man. However the lighting is quite dim and dark, this illustrates how the man could be depressed or feeling stressed about something or he could even be having problems at home and can't focus at work. The lighting creates a dark mood for the audience- maybe this could be foreshadowing a bad and omniscient event? Furthermore, the actor has his back hunched down and is leaning back on his desk, this almost gives off an impression of giving up. Also, the fact that his eyes are closed could mean that he could be remembering or regretting something, or maybe feeling pain and loss of something. The actor is dressed in a smart way, but has a plain face to show that he is strictly professional. His hair is combed back to show his business side of his personality.- he looks smart. There are many props used in this still image, such as the lamp to give off a personal touch. However, the room is decorated in a plain and monotonous way- it's his office not house so it needs to look professional. The colours of the props are quite manual and fit in with the mood created because everything is quite dull. Moreover, the setting that is created in this still image is gives off a dark feel and makes the audience feel that something bad is about to happen or has happened. This would make the audience feel very curious as to why he is acting in this manner and would want to know more about his past. The setting is also presented as strict and professional because of the colours. Everything in his office is very neat and doesn't look comfortable. This makes the setting seem unsettling.There are also signs and signifiers to show that this is the actors workplace.There is a dark briefcase on the table to portray that he is a busy man. Additionally, his desk has lots of papers on it to show how his character maybe dominant in the company- he could be the boss. Also, he seems to be of higher class.
